Coffee is for Closers! GOP Legislator hiding from sexual assault allegations?

Assemblyman Devon Mathis (R-Visalia) is reeling from the mounting scandals and bad publicity that has engulfed his district.

Ever since American Children First broke the story about sexual assault allegations involving Mathis back in October, there has been a steady drip of negative stories and reports.

Now he has abruptly cancelled a "Community Coffee with Devon Mathis" event that was scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Coffee is for Closers!

Attention. Interest. Desire. Action.

Do we have your attention, Assemblyman Mathis? I know we do.

Have we been able to interest the public? Yes, we have.

Have we created desire to throw you out of office? You betcha!

Action -- can we produce the desired action? This is where we are at now!

Always Be Closing...

Last night, the Tulare County Republican Central Committee passed a resolution calling upon Mathis to immediately resign his office. This morning, American Children First called upon Assembly Republican Leader Brian Dahle to utilize the provisions of Proposition 50 and move to suspend Mathis without pay.

Mathis was scheduled to have a morning coffee event where he meets with constituents tomorrow morning in Porterville. However, that event has been scrubbed from his Facebook page.

However, we were able to capture a screenshot of his Twitter page where there is still an announcement and link to the now deleted event page.

It is worth noting that Porterville is Mathis' hometown. Mathis must be feeling an intense amount of heat and mounting pressure from multiple sources for him to cancel such an event.

If you can't go home and enjoy sanctuary with friends and family, where can you go?

The next coffee event is scheduled to be held on December 1 in Exeter.
