Major Talk Show Host Compares Illegal Immigration Initiative to Bringing Back Slavery
A Los Angeles talk show host with one of the largest listening audiences in the nation blasted an initiative that would prohibit illegal aliens from attending public schools.
KFI640 AM's Bill Handel likened the "American Children First Initiative" to a quest to bring about slavery, roundly rebuking the effort to ensure that American children receive the best education possible. You can listen to the clip at the end of this post.
He further argued that the effort was a waste of time and that there was no chance the Supreme Court would ever overturn Plyler v Doe even if Trump was to stack the court with more nominees after Neil Gorsuch.
Yours truly, the author of the initiative believes, that the fact pattern that existed 35 years ago when the court weighed in has changed dramatically during the intervening period.
The State of California is spending more than 15 billion dollars a year educating the children of illegal aliens, while Governor Jerry Brown travels the state with his hand out like a panhandler seeking higher taxes.
In its majority decision, the Court argued that a state must show a substantial state interest to warrant barring illegal aliens from schools. If ever there was a case study affirming the state interest it would be California -- a state that is crumbling right before our eyes as we let millions of illegal aliens sponge off the generosity of American citizens.
