The Media has been Fake News for a While
The media is and has been a joke for a long time – just ask any anti-illegal immigration activist who was fighting for his country more than a decade ago.
They didn’t just turn into “fake news” in 2016. It has always been that way.
Nearly every immigration related article, assuming they chose to even cover a story, referred to our side as being anti-immigrant despite the fact that we repeatedly stated we were anti-illegal immigration and had many members who were legal immigrants themselves standing with us at protests.
And if they weren’t calling you anti-immigrant or referring to the illegal aliens as undocumented immigrants, they were busy portraying you as a racist with ties to white supremacist groups. Or they peddled hit pieces by the losers at the Southern Poverty Law Center as if they were fact-based articles.
When they weren’t calling you a racist or anti-immigrant, they were busy insinuating that we were a group of vigilantes because many of us were going into migrant communities, day labor centers, or supporting the various Minuteman groups and going to the border to do the job our government failed to do.
Or they were busy pedaling some story about how every little illegal alien child or anchor baby was going to be the next Nobel Peace Prize winner and bending over backwards to write sob stories about the horrible plight of the illegal alien.
What about the plight of the law-abiding, taxpaying citizen? When it came to overcrowded classrooms, jam packed emergency rooms, getting your car totaled by illegals driving without insurance, or being victims of crime perpetuated by illegal aliens – it was crickets.
Not only did the media slant its portrayals of each side, they mischaracterized or intentionally did not report the details at our events.
At one of our Save Our State events in Baldwin Park, we were surrounded by what was probably a thousand open borders goons on the left. One of them threw a bottle and hit an elderly woman on our side in the head – sending her to the hospital. Despite the fact that an ambulance was called to the scene, the Los Angeles Times reported that there were no incidents or injuries at the protest.
These are not isolated, one-off incidents. There has always been a pattern to the media coverage of illegal immigration issues.
Thankfully, with the advent of social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Periscope, Twitter, Youtube) and center-right media outlets like Breitbart, “America First” nationalists can circumvent the distribution and flow of the news monopoly they have enjoyed throughout the history of the press. Much of America is waking up to the warning calls we made more than a decade ago.
We are entering a new era of illegal immigration activism and grassroots groups across the nation have unprecedented opportunities to shape and frame the national narrative that did not exist before.
So, while the media is just as fake as ever – we are more powerful than ever.
If you are a nationalist concerned about the future we are leaving behind for your children, we invite you to join us today.
