Syrian Refugees: Where Does Your State Rank on the List?

Using publicly available information produced by the United States Department of State, American Children First has compiled the following list detailing how many Syrian refugees have been resettled in each one.

The information was gathered via the Refugee Processing Center and only reflects data going back to 2015 all the way through August 30, 2017.

Going back to 2002, if not earlier, refugees from Syria have been placed in various states. However, fewer than 500 refugees were resettled in the United States from 2002-14.

Since the beginning of 2015 more than 20,000 Syrian refugees have been settled on American soil.

Here is the annual breakdown and total numbers for each state, including Washington D.C.

Joseph Turner

Joseph Turner is the founder and executive director for American Children First. He is a nationalist hardliner on illegal immigration issues and considered one of the foremost visionary and strategic thinkers in the movement. Previously, he founded the California-based anti-illegal immigration group Save Our State in 2004. He also authored the Illegal Immigration Relief Act (IIRA) in 2005 which served as the model blueprint for dozens of other cities, most notably Hazleton (PA) and Farmers Branch (TX). The IIRA is believed to have represented the first ever attempt to use the local initiative process to combat illegal immigration in the United States.
